On 05/12/2008 r.j. philips posts: I have a similar question, but then with regard to hydrogen sulfide (H2S)diffusion and chemical degradation. Since in some parts of the world, H2S content of oil reservoir fluid is rather high. Is H2S a problem for polymer cover seals, spoolables and insulation from the viewpoint of corrosion and diffusion rate/coefficient. What is the time lag of H2S in a PTFE O-ring of 5 mm cross sectional diameter or a internal polyethylene liner / coating of 2.9 mm?
