Dear Diffusion-polymers.com,

Further to the discussion; what is the exact solubility and diffusivity of an hydraulic liquid through fluoropolymers?

Thanks,
John

: Dear Mark,

: General diffusion statement about PTFE is that it is quite tight to mineral oil(no swelling), but the matieral is less tight to water than for example Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) or Chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE). When you require additional support please post, or send us, some more details of the application.

: : I have a non-standard application where I would like to contain hydraulic fluid (mineral oil) and water (in two separate situations). I'm considering using a layer of PTFE film. Can anybody give me advice on how to quantify the diffusion of the fluid through this layer in both of these cases, or suggest a better material?
